Ending a colourful week for 365 Londoners, this fantastic tattoo. Rather her than me, I must say.

benoboy

Loving the depth of field and the strength of the colour here. The way only his green eyes are properly sharp is excellently done.

SOCPA - Richard

Due to the police powers these days, a mass demonstration can be hard to put together, So people have come up with the idea of mass lone demonstrations. Laura has put together a fantastic set of these poeple, out there spreading the message. Behind Richard you can see Brian Haw, "famous" for building a demo and living with it in Parliament Square for several years, much to the consternation of the Blair government.

Phil

Phil, originally uploaded by benbenbenbenben.

Phil the pub landlord. He seems relaxed and engaged, for me the sign of a connection with the photographer.

Funfair girls

Funfair girls, originally uploaded by Monkey Magic.

These girls look too well put-together to have run the marathon, Ph well, they've got plenty of time, judging by the last guy.

Hampstead Heath Fair, Easter bank holiday weekend.

Marathon Runner 28290

Marathon Runner 28290, originally uploaded by madeinsheffield.

So last week was the London Marathon. it's a fantastic spectacle, with people like this inspiring the rest of us lazy oafs who live in hope of one day getting our act together and running.

ceremonial swords

Vaishaki (sikh festival) celebrations in East London. I reckon people in parades wearing colourful clothes are giving consent by default, don't you?

Anyway looking forward to many more colourful pictures of London out at parades, fesitvals and fairs over he upcoming months.

Charlotte

Charlotte, originally uploaded by bonjour television.

Every now and then we get a great fashion-y shoot. Love the originality in this shot, and the interesting colour achieved from the film.

More great stuff from photographers of the future!

Queen's Park Farmer's Market

Queen's Park Farmer's Market, originally uploaded by Monkey Magic.

Not sure whether this guy is actually a Londoner.

Well he was in London, he brings beef and great milk and sells it at a farmer's market.

The beef looks great. I wish someone would make kosher meat that looked that good.

Quiff

Quiff, originally uploaded by madeinsheffield.

My favourite part of this blog is the characters everyone meets on their journeys round town. A great character found on the streets of Camden this time.

Bruce

Bruce, originally uploaded by Shooz.

A homeless Spurs supporter. Finding somewhere to live is one of the hardest things about life in the capital, I hope he figures something out.

Brick Lane

, originally uploaded by 'stpiduko'.

a companion shot to the one from Jayna last week.

Every now and then Eamon goes out and tries to take 100 portraits in a session against the same background. check out the gallery here.

He's always interested in new ideas.

Big Chill Bar

Sunday Roast. What a perfect way to spend the day.

For some people, obviously.

A lovely Nana shot!

The Ecstasy of Train Information Bulletins

A good way to finish on a week with quite a few tube portraits. These guys take clubbing to public spaces, bringing together a load of people dancing to their own tunes in train stations. It should happen more often, it definitely would liven up an otherwise dull day.

Brick Lane

, originally uploaded by Jayna.

Have I said anything yet about how much I like people's sunglasses yet? i think they are very photogenic. Maybe it helps that his is a very pretty girl.

Jayna went to Brick Lane with Eamon -check out more details here - jayna's blog and Eamon's

Have you been approached by them? If not, watch out, they're on a mission.

MCC

I really like the matching carnation and hankie.

James and the Cat(s)

, originally uploaded by brendadada.

I'll post a link to brenda's blog later - how to make multiple "things" like this one. There's only one cat.

Red Woman In Tube

Red Woman In Tube, originally uploaded by edscoble.

Cross Processing is the name for developing film (usually slide film) in the wrong chemistry (usually the chemistry for print film). This usually results in a few effects - increased contrast (a greater difference between the bright and dark areas), and a colour shift - hopefully that's what's produced the gorgeous redness of the coat this girl is wearing.

Ed's maaged to find some space - personally I'm dreading the summer and the sweaty tourists - why are they always on my line?

mobile

mobile, originally uploaded by chutney bannister.

A bit of an Underground theme developing this week.

Whilst I usually don't blog candids, I really like this one. The Tube is a great unifier, everyone takes it. For us reserved Londoners, we're often a bit too close to other people. Well, if it results in great photo opportunities like this one, then surely it's worth it.

Zombies Attack London

DSCF0667.JPG, originally uploaded by harryhwb.

I've seen plenty on the tube before but never a carraige of Zombies.

All to do with last weekend's Fleshmob - more links to follow.

Camden on a sunny Saturday.

Just check out the shadow - hilarious.

matt

I really like the originality of this portrait within a portrait.

The sun's shining (finally) and the sunglasses are out! Looking good, girls.

Centurion

Wow this guy has some body definition, and the photo is pretty sharp too.

It's one of those "archetypal" Lonon shots. Businesspeople going abou ttheir business in London. Those colours, also, really say London.

The Real McCoy

The Real McCoy, originally uploaded by Andy(Shotage).

There's a couple of these dudes who go roaming round town, you can usually spot them at the various free festivals that go on during the year.

If you see them, let me know! I'll be keeping my eye out.

They've got a flickr group dedicated to them as well.

yet another dude in shades. I love the reflections of his friends.

Do all these dudes in shades mean summer's on the way? Hurray!

London Street Photography

Check out the attitude, dude.

And check out Paul's blog, he does a lot of street photography round London, some great faces in there. Recognise anyone?

Day 7: Cousin It

Day 7: Cousin It, originally uploaded by innercitysumo.

Fantastic. Extremely well titled photo.

The Marching Band

2007-03-31_15-01-56.jpg, originally uploaded by londonrubbish.

Not something you see every day (although I wish I would have done), these guys are from The Marching Band. I'm not sure what the story is, but I think they welcome participants. So if you've got an instrument and know how to use it, go and check them out!

Also, check out Mark's other photos - he followed them round London and it looks like fun.

Neeko

Neeko, originally uploaded by jimmyolive.

some new entries in the group and on the blog this week.

This is a terrific portrait. The angle is perfect, it adds motion to a still photo. Compositionally it's excellent too and Neeko's outfit really stands out against the concrete background. All in all, an excellent and unusual portrait.
