Sympathetic straight-on portrait. I love the way this guy's shirt, tie and anorak are so well co-ordinated.

Extra Extra
365 Londoners extra - this goes hand it hand with the other Alternative fashion Show shot, wonderful collection of - who knows what - models/overmadeuppeople/extras from a zombie movie?

deal real...
I love the range of personalities in the different portraits on this blog. i wonder what this guy would talk to the last one about?
Tony - Smithfield Market
Londoners at work. Great shot from Smithfield Market. There's always talk of moving the market and redevelopin gthe site - like London needs more offices and boring shops. I work not far from the market and the personalities and working people of the area would truly be a great loss.
late night at the circus
It's been a long ime since I've blogged any of my own, so here are some I'm quite pleased with.
The tube is always an attractive place for photography. A strange light, interesting people around, always wondering where they came from and where they are going to. I've borken my own rules by taking a spy shot,I really did think about asking her and I'm pretty sure she would have said yes too.
I'm not generally a fan of candid shots, basically because I thik they are rarely any good (badly framed, blurry etc) but also i wouldn't like to be the object of someone's attention down the other end of a lens. Don't do to others what you don't want done to yourself, is what I usually think.

'roid week - day 4
This week was Polaroid Week. Andy took two shots each day (to get through a whole pack in the week). Did you think polaroids had died out in the age of digital? Andy begs to differ.
models
fen somehow manages to find things other people can't. She found a Marc Jacobs shoot - so we get some professional modelling on 365 Londoners. Thanks Marc. Thanks Fen.
HotSaltBeef
I get hungry every time I see this sign. Fen has a great blog full of brightly coloured photos of London - check them out.
Taking Some Sun
digging the composition, man. Now the sun is coming out, he looks like he's digging that too. Or is it the thoughts of what's behind him?

nick
Is this from 1967 or 2007? Who knows. Great style and a great eye. And great use of the camera and the film.
matt portrait
two absolute stunners now from another college guy - wow am I jealous of these guys, having fun taking amazing photos. Go do it, guys!
Not for much longer
Following on the cross generational theme this week, more fab stuff from Jamie. Lovely low light shot. I wonder what this girl will have to say when she's a similar age to the ladies before?
Real Eastenders
Well, some Londoners of a different age now. I think the title sums i tup really well, I'd love to have chat with these lovely looking ladies and see some of the things they've seen.
truck workshop
fantastic fashion photography!
A great sense of space and use of colour in this photo. unusual angle really creates tension.
saturday @ londontown
I love the sense of animation of this photo. it's much more than a snapshot of friends enjoying themselves, there's a bit of tension between the subjects and the photographer, and catching the smoke mid-puff is genius.

Dick the Tannoy Man
A legend from the other end of the town, I hope Barnet Football Club look after Dick the Tannoy man for a long time too.
Londoner
Well the title says it all. Often to be seen wandering the streets of Chelsea, I hope this wonderful tradition of looking after men who gave their all to look after this country continues for a long time.
Noisy
Another teriffic shot from London's Chinese New Year, capturing the range of Londoners out enjoying the town.
A perfect crowd shot from Billy. I love the sense of some people enjoying it, and some people not.

crowd control
as always, rules are there to be broken. This is a perfect example of street photography from Eamon and wonderful composition - he has captured all aspects of the crowd, the cramped conditions, those enjoying it and those who hate it too. It's also such a wonderful snapshot of London faces out enjoying Chinese New Year.
Face Value
Straight and direct, a simple confrontational portrait. I like this picture because not only is it a great portrait, but it is also of it's time and place - immediately identifiable London location.
